Each of the following carb sources also have the same number of calories as one another:

100g Brown Rice (cooked)
129g Sweet Potato (pre-cooked)
170g Red Potato (pre-cooked)
233g Butternut Squash

The key thing to note here is that when people are building diets they often go for the defaults of chicken and rice.

But if you happen to be hungry, it may be advantageous to look for other foods that offer more volume for the same caloric value.
