Let’s talk endocrine disrupters

I get asked about what to avoid and what is no big deal. The real answer is that I can’t tell you what the safe dose is for you. Or more accurately the dose that has any impact on your health.

I don’t make it my life mission to avoid everything. I think the stress of trying to live a perfect life is more harmful than a few bottles of water, but I take a cautious approach and avoid what I can to a reasonable degree.

I really avoid soy and most plastics. Hot plastics most of the time, but I don’t lie awake at night if I have a bottle of water. Worrying about how it impacted my health.

Estrogen dominance is a pretty common issue, so it would not be wise to ignore them completely. We need to be aware of what we are putting in our bodies. But I personally don’t do anything beyond that.

I always tell my clients that if your hormones are sensitive to stressors, environment, lifestyle, etc. then you either have to live in a bubble, or support your lifestyle through hormones while just doing your best. I know people who avoid face creams, cosmetics, plastics, body lotion, etc. I can’t do that.

For me personally I just wouldn’t be happy living that life. I don’t go crazy with any of those things, but from my perspective the poison will always be in the dose.
