When you are disciplined, you can open yourself up to learn

“Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge, but whoever hates correction is stupid.” Proverbs 12:1 NIV

Have you ever done the same thing over and over and over again but continued getting mad because it wasn’t getting you where or what you want? Adding insult to injury, have you ever gotten mad when someone was trying to correct you?

The term ‘discipline’ usually has a negative connotation because we usually use the word to describe the action of stopping something at the moment because the action you were stopping was bad. You discipline your child when the child is bad. As a wife, you discipline your husband to put down the toilet seat or do laundry or do the dishes. Husbands, you can’t discipline your wife, she’s perfect .

The reason one is disciplined is because that person has now learned an action that is opposite of the bad behavior.

Discipline is something we all need. Discipline is needed to meal prep, stick to the plan when it is difficult, and consistency in all your training sessions. Discipline is habitual and a habit you can teach yourself.

When you are disciplined, you can open yourself up to learn. Humility is not prideful and it humility will teach you discipline.

If you are working with one of us coaches or on your own journey, don’t be upset when you are “disciplined”. It is for that reason you will become successful. If you are prideful and egotistical, you will fight correction. That, in essence, is stupid. You’ll only end up doing the same thing over and over and over again and will continue getting mad because it isn’t getting you where you want or what you want.
