This is a lifestyle

Sometimes when people go through a very difficult time they completely abandon their plan and eat completely indiscriminately. They tend to eat higher-calorie “comfort foods” and consume them in quantities far greater than they might otherwise consume normally.

In other words, despite calling their eating plan a lifestyle, they actually treat it more like a diet that can be switched on or off.

To be clear, a lifestyle is actually a style of life. This means that it is the style of life that you lead when you are happy, sad, celebrating, or grieving.

That is not to say that during these times you have to be totally on plan. Depending on the situation, that may be a completely unfair expectation.

But if it is truly a style of life then it should be a common theme regardless of your emotional state because it is HOW YOU LIVE.

If you’re in a temporary situation that somehow precludes you from eating on plan, you should still attempt to choose foods that are the similar to those on your plan and make efforts to moderate quantities of the foods you do eat.

When the difficult situation has passed, you’ll be glad you did.
