The “arms” infatuation

Whether it’s training clients or talking to other women (as it really seems to be more of a female concern than a male concern in my experience), all I hear is “when are we going to do arms” or “we don’t do enough arms” or “are we doing bi’s and tri’s”?

My guess is this: you want to have nice arms.

I get that.

The fact is, just doing “arms” isn’t going to get rid of the “wing” under your triceps or get rid of the “bra fat”. What you are seemingly trying to do is “spot reduce” which we know doesn’t happen.

Yes, this is what I hear.

That said, you should do less volume for arms given the indirect work they already get when you do your pushing and pulling.

They don’t deserve similar volume to a bigger body part.
