Yesterday, I posted about how convenient the GoFigure app is to use. Here’s an example of how I used it. One of my meals called for 110g of chicken and 170g of brown rice. (How original, right?) This meal gives me about 39g of protein, 39g of carbs and 5.5g of fat for a total of around 360 k/cal.

I was able to sub out the brown rice for gluten-free pasta, which is technically brown rice pasta. However, I knew I had to account for the pasta sauce, so I swapped a portion of my brown rice pasta for it. Then I swapped out the chicken for 96% fat-free ground beef.

What I ended up with was 35g of gluten-free pasta (measured dry) and 120g of pasta sauce, which I combined with 106g of 96% fat-free ground beef. This gave me about 33g of protein, 35g of carbs and 9g of fat for a total of around 360 k/cal. As you can see this is fairly comparable to the original meal and only took me a couple of minutes to figure out how to do. So like I said in my previous post; the GoFigure app is easy to use and a diet saver.
