Hormones and fat loss

August 11th, 2017 by

If you have a physique goal, and you have hormones issues, you can’t expect to separate the two. Hormones impact fat loss, they also impact recovery, ability to gain muscle, mood, energy, even hunger. That is the short list.

If your hormones are in the tank, you should not be trying to make drastic changes to your body composition. If your goal is to get leaner and tighter, balance hormones first. There are very real consequences to putting the body through dieting and heavy training with depleted hormones. You may get away with it for a while, but it will catch up to you. In the end you end up bigger and not in the way you are aiming for. Future fat loss attempts become harder and recovering your hormones becomes more challenging.

The longer you live in denial that these things should be looked at together, the harder the come back will be.

Fat loss and hormones are not separate. You can’t diet and cardio your way through metabolic recovery. Not only will your results be suboptimal at best, but they won’t be sustainable. Without hormonal support, it’s more a matter of when than if.

Your due diligence to get hormones under control in addition to giving your body what it needs now (ahem, food and rest), will help your success in the future. It is a suck it up buttercup type of thing.
