Exercise should be viewed as a privilege and not punishment

A gym recently posted this for their members and when I saw this I was completely appalled. As if enough people don’t already have this mindset that they need to further reinforce it.

In any case, doing extra cardio in an attempt to make up for a dietary indiscretion represents a dysfunctional relationship with both food and exercise.

If an entire bag of mini chocolate bars “accidentally” made it into your mouth there really isn’t anything you can do about that (unless you happen to have a time machine to go back and un-eat that food).

What you CAN do though is learn from the situation, let it go, and get right back on plan. Exercise should be viewed as a privilege not a punishment.
