While BMI is a decent measure for sedentary individuals, the margin for error is significant for those of us that weight train and carry more muscle mass.
It seems so silly to try and fit everyone into a chart of height and weight, yet people let this number ruin their day pretty frequently.
All we really need is a mirror to know if we are where we want to be. Our bodies are pretty good at sending signals when things are off. We typically know when we aren’t healthy (yes I realize there are outliers and sometimes health fails without warning).
Take home message, BMI is not for everyone. Don’t put much energy into another number to obsess over. It isn’t worth your time to try and fit in a specific colored box on a chart that isn’t accurate.
