LBC Contest Prep Testimonial
I pulled this short quote (after asking for permission), which doubles as a testimonial (although it wasn't written as one - just a casual journal post), from a client's journal on the Lean Bodies Fitness forums. Incidentally, this is Lisa Anderson, who won her first show of the season a couple weeks ago.
As of today, she's just a few short days away from show #2 of the season. Speaking of which, her evening update email that I just received a a little while ago said:
"BTW, feeling great today. I think I look awesome too."
How many times do you hear that only a few days out from a show?
---------
I can't believe it's finally here. I started dieting lightly in January and it's finally here. When I first started prepping this year, I was going to do it on my own. I did do it on my own for 2 months and then I hired Erik. I had said that I wanted to look different this year standing on that stage. I had been unhappy the last two years with my legs and last year just overall bodyfat until I went to the North Americans and was doing 2 hours of cardio a day for 3 weeks straight. I still placed near the bottom. I didn't expect much since it was my first national show. At the end of March, I noticed that I kept inching up my cardio, reducing my cals and increasing my fish meals. Getting into that same cycle as the last two years and not looking much better except I had been careful not to overload my weight in the offseason. Anyway, I dropped a good 10lbs on my own but decided at the rate I was going... I'd be eating next to nothing and doing 2 hours of cardio by the end. That's when I decided to hire Erik and it's was the best decision I could've made. Needless to say, Erik has taught me a lot and has made this journey easier. I was 8-10 weeks out when I hired him and everyone wasn't sure if I was making the right decision changing this late in the game. My thoughts was ... what do I have to lose. I'll either meet my goal or not. No biggie as long as I was happy. Well, I've exceed that goal and I'm thrilled. Will I win my class or overall? I'm not sure but whatever happens, happens. I'm happy and I'm going to go on that stage and show them judges, I'm having a great time and I'm proud of my physique. You can't lose when you do that or feel that way.
