What’s the #1 most played song on your iPod?

I can’t say that I have a #1 song at the moment, but my iPod is full of reggaeton, house music, and red dirt country. I always feel like I want to dance in between sets. LOL.

What is one of your favorite quotes?

“What do I fear?

I fear stagnation and lack of progress.

I fear never reaching my potential and being average.

I fear being forgotten… The past… Yesterday’s news.

I fear giving up and being passed by, going softly into that good night.

I fear letting those I love down, letting myself down.

I fear settling, giving in to the “that’s just the way it is” mindset.

I fear dying without leaving my mark.

I fear not feeling these fears anymore and just floating along.

These fears feed me, they nourish my drive.

I love my fear.” Unknown

What’s your favorite indoor/outdoor activity (aside from going to the gym)?

I love to be outdoors and on the water as much as possible! Some of my favorite activities include: kayaking, paddle boarding, sailing, watching a sunset over the ocean with my husband.

If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?

Fly a plane. My uncle is a pilot and my sister has taken flight lessons, so I think that love for flying runs in my family.

When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time?

By taking my rowdy pups for a walk, in hopes of draining some of their energy. Never works. ☺

When was the last time you had an amazing meal?

When I was visiting my family in Kansas, we ate at one of the many awesome barbeque restaurants in Kansas City. Beef brisket and burnt ends!

What is your favorite exercise in the gym?

Deadlifts or pull ups. I love back exercises.

If you could do anything you wanted right now, what would it be?

I would be grilling out at the beach, with my entire family here visiting from Kansas. Don’t get to see them enough.

Where do you most want to travel, but have never been?

Africa is #1 on my bucket list – Morocco, Kenya, and South Africa. I am kind of an adventure seeker, and I want SO badly to experience cage diving with great white sharks off the coast of Cape Town, South Africa.

What is your favorite book?

The Psychology of Winning – by Denis Waitley

What does your perfect day look like?

Wake up to a strong cup of coffee and reruns of The Golden Girls, before heading to the beach with my husband. Sit on the island pier while we watch the dolphins play, and then head to dinner at a local beach restaurant for some fresh seafood and a rum punch. Finish the night off dancing to live reggae with toes in the sand.

How would your friends describe you?

Loyal, fun, and honest.

Given the choice of anyone in the world, whom would you want as a dinner guest?

Anthony Bourdain

For what in your life do you feel most grateful?

I’m grateful for my life – my health, my husband, my awesome job which allows me to do what I love, and my super supportive mom and younger siblings.

What is your favorite snack?

It’s a close tie between candy corn and peppermint patties, but since most candy corn is not gluten-free I’m going with peppermint patties on this one.

What is your favorite sport to watch?

CHIEFS FOOTBALL! Especially when they crush the Redskins. Lol.  ☺

Which do you prefer, sweet or salty foods?

A combination of the two. I will literally salt my sweets – cupcakes, oatmeal, ice cream, etc.

Are you a collector of anything?

Nope.

What’s your favorite thing to do on a Saturday night?

I love to sit on the end of our dock with my husband, cocktail in hand, reggae music playing on our little radio, watching the sunset over the bay.

Name 1 thing not many people know about you:

At 12 years old I was warming up for a softball game in the national tournament I was playing in, when I was hit in the face with a softball and broke my nose. It was one of the final games of the tournament and we were in the top 5, so there was no way I was sitting that game out! With a gauze-stuffed nose, I still went out and played. We ended up losing that game and were sent home, taking 5th (if I remember right), so I’m glad I stuck it out and played.  ☺
