Grandma's Sessions Swiss Steak
I've been meaning to post this recipe up for over 2 weeks. Oops. After
posting the crock-pot chicken, Erik also made a version of the crock-pot
chicken. Since he was not use to using his crock pot for lots of meals, he
emailed me asking if I had any steak recipes for the crock-pot. It was
then, that I remembered my Grandmas Swiss Steak. Yummy! Now, you will
notice that in the video I used my skillet to make it, but you can use the

I was on the phone with my mom recently and she mentioned that although
she loved my recipes, she wished that I would post the measurements in
cups, tablespoons, etc. instead of using grams or ounces. It opened up the
discussion of the accuracy of measuring cups, which reminded me of this
youtube video clip that an LBF member posted on the Forum a few months ago. This
video is an example of how the lack of accuracy can really add up. I know
many people do not feel the need to weigh their food, but if you are
wanting to really see how much you are actually eating, a

Today I'll be keeping it short, as this isn't technically a recipe, but instead a suggestion. ;) First off, you should know that I have this 'relationship' issue with chicken. :lol: I could eat chicken everyday no problem, and I never get tired of it. The problem is that in order for me to eat chicken everyday, I have to prepare it first. Here is where our relationship is rocky. I can't touch raw chicken. As my husband as my witness, he knows to expect that I won't touch the stuff uncooked. I've been on a cranberry kick these past couple of months. Lucky me, I stocked up on fresh cranberries this past November and froze them ;) If you weren't so 'lucky' to remember to do so, you can check places like Whole Foods, Kroger, and some of the other upscale grocery stores for fresh cranberries. You get a lot of 'bang' for your 'buck'. In dieting terms, you get a lot of volume without it costing you a lot in terms of carbs. One-half cup of cranberries (55g) is only 30 calories, and 7 grams of carbs!
